A woman in Taiwan had four bees living beneath her eyelid and “feasting on her tears.”
The four insects measured less than a quarter of an inch in length.
The woman felt a pain in her eye one day while tending the grave of a relative. As she was pulling weeds, she felt a stinging sensation under her eyelid. She tried washing it out, thinking it was dirt, but the sensation continued.
When the woman visited the doctor, the doctor checked out her eye and saw the tiny legs of the bees wriggling in her ducts.
According to doctors, the woman could have died from the bees, but she refrained from rubbing her eyes, which could have ruptured the bees and caused an infection.
