VIDEO: Pearl Jam Covers White Stripes’ “We’re Going To Be Friends”

Pearl Jam kicked off their two-night homestand at Seattle’s Safeco Field last night (August 8) and included a cover of The White Stripes’ “We’re Going To Be Friends” that served as a salute to Seattle’s teachers.
Eddie Vedder prefaced the song by mentioning some of his children’s teachers were at the show tonight and he borrowed the song “from my friend Jack” to honor their work as educators. The sing-a-long that ensues will give you chills, and then Vedder’s daughters bring their teachers out on stage.
It was ridiculously touching and sweet, just like “We’re Going To Be Friends.”

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
