Trent Reznor Clarifies Marketing of ‘Bad Witch,’ Owns Fan Forum In The Process

There is so much to unpack here in this latest bit of Nine Inch Nails news, but here’s the general breakdown:

1. New release Bad Witch is being labeled as an LP, not an EP.
2. Trent Reznor checks out and comments on fan forums.
3. Trent Reznor also has no qualms about lighting your ass up on said forums.

So, unlike 2016’sNot the Actual Events and 2017’s Add Violence,  Bad Witch, which was meant to be the third EP released in what was billed as an EP trilogy, is now being labeled as an LP.  

Why?  Reznor provided some clarification to confused fans in the NIN forum Echoing The Sound with the following response:

“Want to know why it's being labeled an LP instead of an EP?  EPs show up with singles in Spotify and other streaming services = they get lost easier.  EPs feel less important in today's music-isn't-as-important-as-it-once-was world. Why make it easier to ignore?  We're not charging any more for it so why get worked up about it?”

Reznor then punctuated his post perfectly by singling out commenter Quantum550, who took particular offense to the labeling of Bad Witch and criticized the releases delay because of “lack of inspiration,” by simply telling them to “suck my entire c*ck.”

If only that type of response could be used in more real world situations.
