Jerry Rice is known for his NFL skills with the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. More recently, he has been known for a different talent; crashing weddings.

Last November, newlyweds Larkin and Matt were married in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. During the reception, bouncers asked multiple times if random individuals could join the celebration. The groom was getting annoyed by eager party-goers, until one NFL superstar asked to become a part of the celebration. Matt walked out and Rice instantly said: “Hey, I’m Jerry”.

He was granted access to the wedding festivities! Everyone wanted to take photos with the legend when he walked into the party. The Ringer stated that “Rice took about 20 minutes of photos before heading to the dance floor where he performed a perfect knees-bent, swaying side-to-side dance to ‘Blow the Whistle’ by Too $hort.”

This wasn’t the last or first time Rice walked into a reception. Rice stated that the first time he crashed a wedding was back in 2006 after he left the NFL. Since weddings are popular at golf clubs and Rice is a big-time player, he runs into them often. He also travels often for business and likes to explore hotel grounds.

When he stumbles upon a wedding, Rice makes sure he doesn’t overstay his welcome. He’ll party, dance a little, and makes sure the guests get the photos they want. He noted to The Ringer that because he was on Dancing with the Stars, people assume that he’s a professional dancer. We saw his moves on the reality show! He may not be a professional dancer, but he can certainly pass for one.

Not everyone recognizes the superstar when he walks into the joint. Most of the time, the groom freaks out first and then people follow along. For all those football fans out there, we are sure seeing his face would be a highlight of the night. Well, aside from the fact that you’re getting married!
