Training camp is quickly coming to a close in terms of the open practices that we as media are allowed to watch. Tuesday’s practice was another hot and humid South Florida morning, but it seemed like this team was able to get in a day of quality work in preparation for their second preseason game in Tampa. This is a time in training camp where players start to separate from each other either due to their play or the inability to participate due to bumps and bruises. With only one more regular practice to make an impression this week, players must take advantage of the limited opportunities that are still in front of them.
Here’s what stood out to me during the 14th practice of Dolphins Training Camp:
1. Rookies Continue To Shine
There are multiple drafted and undrafted players on this roster that have made an impression on me so far throughout training camp, but there are two that will play significant roles when the regular season starts in September. Right tackle Ja’Wuan James seems to be living up to the player that this organization thought he would so far in training camp. James has shown the athleticism everyday in practice to not only play the position with ease, but has a toughness about him that you would expect from a first round draft choice. The best thing I can say about James is that he’s doing more than just looking the part, he’s acting like it.
