Lowe’s workers fix vet’s broken wheelchair


Employees at Lowe’s in New York came to the rescue of a Vietnam veteran who had been waiting two years for a new wheelchair.
Michael Sulsona said the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs had denied his requests for a replacement.Last week, his wheelchair fell apart while shopping at a Lowe’s on Staten Island.Three employees immediately jumped in to help, taking the wheelchair apart and replacing the broken parts while a tearful Sulsona watched.Forty-five minutes after the store closed, Sulsona left in a wheelchair that was “like new,” he wrote in a letter to the Staten Island Advance newspaper.
